Minister Lamamra stresses need to diversify Algeria's economic partners
Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Mr Ramtane Lamamra, stressed Sunday in Algiers the need to diversify Algeria's economic partners, calling for the development and strengthening of economic diplomacy tools to achieve this goal.
In a speech delivered during the Algerian-Croatian business forum, organized by the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI) in the presence of the Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Gordan Grlic Radman, Lamamra said that "Algeria's economic recovery depends on the strengthening, development and diversification of the country's economic relations with various states.
He recalled, in this context, the instructions of the President of the Republic calling for more efforts to impose the presence of the Algerian economy on the international scene, by taking advantage of the benefits of its membership in the various free trade areas and partnership agreements signed.
The national economy will be able, thanks to the advantages offered, "to develop its capacities and join the active economies in the world economy and impose itself in the post-Covid period, to be an effective partner in the structuring of a new world", added the head of Algerian diplomacy.
According to Lamamra, the post-Coronavirus period "will not be indulgent towards those who cannot muster their energies to serve the demands of integrated development".
He also welcomed the holding of the Algerian-Croatian business forum which is part of "Algeria's orientation towards the revitalization of its economic diplomacy so that it is in line with the economic progress that Algeria is experiencing and its promising prospects in various fields", highlighting the major role of the CACI in economic diplomacy.
